No, NanoGUI is just the name of the project. It isn't a layer in the GUI.
Apart from that, that's correct, though Gnome is very heavyweight for
NanoGUI's intended platforms.

Application -> toolkit -> NanoGUI -> framebuffer
Application <- toolkit <- NanoGUI <- mouse/keyboard/touchpad
