Yap it's true linux is installed, and even kdevelop install is planned. but none of us no matter how good/bad programmer is. I do not thing that i should spend my time over editing make files, and invest time on EMACS short cuts, or compile Link from the command line. I'm well aware that we should but man, I wish i can do it gradually. So this is the story, allot of us Win programmers hate MS more than you, specialy GUI, and i think allot of us will move To GTK+ C++ binding & Qt. you can leverage your number of programmers by giving them a slow learning curve Develop under windows & than port to Linux / whatever. It's as simple as that, and that's the only way you'll have desktop/GUI projects accepted by a wide range of programmers. } Yuval Greg Haerr wrote: > > On Tuesday, August 24, 1999 1:51 PM, Yuval Yosef ####@####.#### wrote: > : > : First guys i apologize, i'm so used to win32 > : that it totally passed my mind that NT is running nanox_3.exe > : under WOW, and ofcourse VC++ do not compile 'native dos'. > > Yikes! > > : > : Can some one pls. explain to me what are the obstacles > : compiling it under win32, as i see it the assembly code > : can be inlined using the __asm directive, so do we still need > : MASM ? is something in nanogui architecture tied to 16 bit ? > > Why the heck would you want to compile it under Win32?? > The whole purpose of MicroWindows was to emulate win32 on other systems!! > > There's no architecture problems, the code runs on 16 bit ELKS and > 16 bit MSDOS and 32 bit Linux. You can use Code Crusader, Code Warrior, or the KDE IDE if you'd rather click on "project", "build" than type "make". Apparently Code Crusader's build system actually works on top of make (the graphical file selection thing generates a standard makefile rather than a project file specific to that IDE and no other). --------------- Linux- the choice of a GNU generation. -------------- : Alex Holden (M1CJD)- Caver, Programmer, Land Rover nut, Radio Ham : -------------------- http://www.linuxhacker.org/ -------------------- | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
