1) I have a laptop that has only 16mb RAM. IT will run X, but spends
most fo the time swapping stuff out and the performance just plain
sucks. I am wondering if the nano-gui x server will support the neomagic
video cards in laptops.

2) how much of a performance increase will I see? Anyone compiled any
#'s or have any to share?

Thanx for the info, and am looking forward to not only using nano-gui,
but helping out where I can. I don't have much coding experience, but
I am willing to do what I can to help the project.

Bryan

If you can get a Linux framebuffer driver working on it, it should work.

Nano-X isn't a replacement for X in the sense that you can run X programs
on it; you will need to port anything you want to run to it. Also, at the
current time, it isn't at a stage where porting normal X programs to it
will be at all easy due to the lack of a widget set or window manager.
