Subject:
Microwindows has portrait mode
From: "Greg Haerr" ####@####.#### Date: 14 Dec 1999 17:03:28 -0000 Message-Id: <00c501bf4643$80e4e1a0$15320cd0@gregh> Thanks to Martin Jolicoeur, Microwindows now will run any framebuffer driver in portrait mode. Using some clever programming, Martin has added virtual xres and yres resolutions for the upper level code, while swapping x and y in a single framebuffer driver file, while running on any top of any low level framebuffer driver, including 1, 2, 4, 8, 16 and 32bpp drivers. In addition, Martin has added an SA1100 LCD 4bpp display driver. This is a big gain for the LinuxCE devices, since many (Everex Freestyle for starters) must run in portrait mode for "normal" operation. I'll post these changes in 0.87pre2 very shortly. It's quite a kick running the portrait mode on my standard VGA system and running all the demos sideways!!
