Subject:
compiling viewML in X86 flatform failed
From: "Tony Hoo" ####@####.#### Date: 4 Dec 2000 09:02:53 -0000 Message-Id: <001001c05dd1$ad57e2e0$354f44d3@HuXianGang> The nano-X and flnx had been successful running in CL7500. But when I used the arm viewML binary file(download for viewML ftp server, it was for StrongArm) failed, I had to cross compile it by myself in X86 redhat linux. I had compiled the w3c-libwww-5.2.8 successful, but when I compiled imlib-1.9.8.1, it needed libtiff, libpng, libz ,libXext ,libSM, libICE, etc, because I has no such lib for arm, so I was failed. How can I do it? Reagads. Tony Hoo

Either cross compile them all, or grab the binaries from the debian-arm distribution. -- ------- Alex Holden ------- http://www.linuxhacker.org/ http://www.robogeeks.org/

Yes, that binary was for the SA1100, so your milage on other processors might vary. We should have indicated that on the web site to make it more apparent. > I had compiled the w3c-libwww-5.2.8 successful, but when I compiled imlib-1.9.8.1, it needed libtiff, libpng, libz ,libXext ,libSM, libICE, etc, because I has no such lib for arm, so I was failed. How can I do it? imlib is only needed when you are trying to run Microwindows / ViewML on an X11 system. Otherwise, it won't be needed, so just ignore it. How can I do it? You might want to ask this on the viewml mailing list. IIRC, imlib is only required for the X11 version of ViewML, the Nano-X version uses has built-in image decoding routines.
