Subject:
NewsCache compiling error with option -O3 - resolved
From: Herbert Straub ####@####.#### Date: 12 Aug 2004 16:11:50 +0100 Message-Id: <411B8897.2000700@aon.at> Hallo, the original error report (NewsCache cannot compiled with -O[23]) http://www.linuxhacker.org/cgi-bin/ezmlm-cgi?9:mss:28:200403:bkfakbgciehfapklpnik This was definitely a bug in the libintl.h include file (glibc). If compiled with optimization, the would define a macro called gettext which has the same name as the Article method gettext. This error is fixed in the cvs version of glibc. For details see: http://sources.redhat.com/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/libc/intl/libintl.h?cvsroot=glibc http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=252753 NewsCache 1.2 will name the method GetText to prevent compiling errors. I think the CVS version of glibc would take some time to reach the various distributions.
