Off topic: I want to thank the respodents and all. The advice about disabling ppdev
worked great. However I'm a fool. I upgraded to SuSE 8.1 & I didn't even like it as
much as 7.3 The real kicker is the I lost all my scanner settings and then in trying to
get them back I lost the entire set up. I did have back ups for personal files but no
settings. I am using an old macintosh now. Does anyone want to buy a plustek 9636T? I
also have an Athlon computer with 2 HD's (50GB) 990mhz 256MB ram cd & cd-r. Make me an
offer before I put it on ebay.
