Hello!

Is there a 'software' way of finding out which ASIC my scanner is using
(ie. without disassembling it)?

It's a Primax 4800 Direct which is supposed to be compatible with some
Optic Pro model.

Thanks, D.

Hi,

the only way currently is to download the driver and to install it.
After loading the module you will get the debug output on the
system console ( dmesg ! ).
There you should find the Asic ID somewhere (I currently have no
example but when you look at the output of dmesg you will
find it, I'm sure !)

Thanks, I'll do that later today. And of this day, I volunteer for testing
your driver with this scanner model... :)
