Hello,

I tried several versions of the Plustek driver to install. Using SuSE 6.1
and SuSE 6.4 and everytime I got the same fault: When I compile the driver
and do a "make load" the system answers that this version of pt_drv is
written for Kernel 2.2.1 and not compatible with Kernel 2.2.5 (or 2.2.13). I
tried different versions of the driver and independant of it I get the same
error.

Hi Paul,

as I tried all versions from 0.30 on two SuSE systems (6.1 and 6.4), I
can't
understand why this happens to you. Two weeks ago I compiled
the driver on a new installed 6.4 using the Kernel 2.2.14 and it
worked.

Maybe you have compiled the Kernel on your own and activated the
Kernel-dependent module support. This causes exactly such errors.
You might recompile the Kernel and disabling this feature (menu point
modules!)
I checked my 2.2.5 configuration any found out that I have no version
information with my kernel-symbols.
I will try to recompile my kernel to force the same problems...

Hi.

FWIW...

Whenever you updated kernels (I assume from SuSE itself), did you update
the "lx_suse.rpm" package too? (Apologies if that's too obvious)

I've recently upped to the 2.2.16 from SuSE (I'm using SuSE 6.2), and
because of other problems have had to switch on CONFIG_MODVERSIONS. But I
had no problem recompiling and using the pt_drv module.

Tim
