Hello,

some days ago a Plustek Optic Pro 19200S flatbed
scanner coming with a PCI SCSI-2 controller made
its way to me. The optical resolution is 600 dpi
with 36 bits of color.

So far, I couldn't find any information about this
model in the SANE webpages.
Maybe it is already supported without notice?
Or could I help with some testing?

Any hints or help would be appreciated very much.

Best regards
jg

Hi Juergen,

currently there's no support for the Plustek SCSI scanner.
The Plustek-backend and driver is only capable to control
parallel port scanner.

I also do not have any information about the SCSI scanner.
Maybe you can have a look inside the scanner and tell me
what ASICs there are inside. This may will enable us to
merge current SCSI code and ASIC-control code to obtain
support for the 19200S.

Bye
Gerhard

Hello Gerhard,

thanks a lot for your reply.

I just found out some additional information. The scanner
is already in the list as a remake of an ARTEC scanner but
I did only find it by chance.

Would it be enough to mention it in the Plustek list
and just put in a link to the sane-artec package?

Best regards
jg
