Yes.  If you look through the source, you will find the password file is 
hard-coded at /etc/vncpasswd or somesuch.

ISTR the command is vncpasswd ??  Anyway, I think you need some other 
vnc server utils or perhaps read the vnc manual to get the correct 
format.  I use debian which comes with the vnc tools.  Google for it or 
read the realvnc website....

What changes did you have to make to the makefile?

Also, I think it would be a worthwhile patch to get rid of the password 
authentication altogether on embedded systems.  Use ssh if you need 
security; the vnc password is sent in the clear anyway so it's pretty 
useless.
