Thats a bit strange.  All RGB <-> hw framebuffer values are
converted using macros in include/mwtypes.h.  Look for things
like RGBTOPIXELVAL and COLORTOPIXELVAL macros.
These macros, built for each framebuffer type, convert between RGB
and hw formats.
