    This is truly strange!   I've wondered about things like
this, a magic color whose number just happens to break
the hell out of the system ;-)

Thanks for the fix.  There were other problems relating to
the X11 screen driver running out of colors on 8bpp systems,
I'll check to see if this fix fixes that as well.  

In the mean time, do you have any other magic colors??
