: 1 - It uses the X11 api, and has all of those benefits like exporting
: the display to project onto another screen

Microwindows can do that to, with little effort, providing client/server
are the same endianness/wordsize.

: 3 - Some other (very large) GUI APIs based on X11 might work

That's a definite benefit of X. However, you'll never fit many
of those [large] apis on these small devices.

: 4 - Marketing? (depends on how technically savvy the purchaser is,
: Could go either way, I suppose.)

Our original plan here at Century is to allow folks to run over
X and/or Microwindows with FLTK/FLNX. There are some
applications where the selection of the windowing system is
fixed, and we wanted to assure that all our applications could
also run on alternative windowing systems.

: I am basically an old fashioned X11/Motif guy, but the gang on this list
: has been extremely helpful during my recent foray into Nano-X.

Could we interest you in a little high-speed digital video for Microwindows? ;-)

I think we completed a quick port of Microwindows for Helio
and Agenda over here, but it's not released yet.

Regards,

Greg
