The reason that most people (myself included) reply both directly to the
person and to the mailing list is because people usually sort messages
from mailing lists into seperate folders to personal messages, and the
copy which ends up in the mailing list folder may not be read until much
later. I don't know what you mean by "putting a cc everytime". Just hit
"reply to all" or whatever the equivalent in your mailer is, then prune
off the addresses of people that the message doesn't directly apply to
any more.
