Good Point. Also, the frame buffer drivers for some processors require you
to jump through hoops to get it to run in 16bit mode. As an example the
drivers/video/sa1100fb.c driver for the Intel StrongArm seems to have
different settings for every different motherboard. Depending on the kernel
version, is may be hard to figure out the correct settings for your
processor/board.

Jordan brings out a good point, in that some LCD devices actually
run byte-swapped differently from the processor WORD storage,
for speed reasons.
