Hi, howdy!
Sorry for the late reply. I've been finding this too.
However, in my opinion, FLNX assumes all text as GR_TFASCII.
You may fix this code to use GR_TFUTF8 or something else.
flnx-0.16/src/fl_font.cxx::686 GrText(..., GR_TFASCII);
You can see this is fixed to GR_TFASCII.
