You don't need to write anything into it, it's a named socket and nano-X
ought to delete it when it exits. If Nano-X itself (the server, not the
clients) isn't printing any error messages when it dies, then it's
probably crashing for some reason. Try stracing it to see what happens
immediately before it exits.

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer
