Usually the video bits are computed using YUV, and then blitted
using a specialized YUV->RGB blitter in SDL.  If SDL doesn't have the
blitter, which I don't think it does for < 8bpp (dvdview requires >= 16),
then SDL will "parachute", which usually ends up in a segfault, I think
because of the multi-threaded nature of SMPEG.
