Stupid question - but did your Nano-X program crash? If it crashed or failed to clear the screen when it exits, you would see the same thing you are seeing.
I recommend using virtual terminals, so you can have one terminal for the graphics, and another terminal running Bash - it easier to see how things happen that way.
