Hi:

I'm trying to use the framebuffer version of Microwindows. The build completes w/out errors but when running several of the demos I receive the message:

Error can't open /dev/tty0: Permission denied
	Cannot initialise screen

I have rebuilt my kernel to enable the framebuffer. This seems to work correctly. (I see the penguin logo when logging in and I have a small test program that is able to open /dev/fb0, memory map it, and write to it.)

The results of running fbset produce:

mode "640x480-73"
	# D: 30.720 MHz, H; 36.923 kHz, V: 73.260 Hz
	geometry 640 480 640 480 16
	timings 32552 80 32 16 4 80 4
	rgba 5/11,6/5,5/0,0/0
endmode

(This reflects the fact that I selected 311 at the VGA prompt when booting.) As such, I set the SCREEN_PIXTYPE to MWPF_TRUECOLOR565 in the config file.

My system:

	Microwindows: version 0.89
	Platform: 600 MHz P3, 256 MB RAM
	Linux: Red Hat 7.2 w/ kernel 2.7.17
Gfx Card: NVidia Riva TNT2 M64 (I've configred the framebuffer in the kernel to use the vesa driver)

Finally, the X11 version of Microwindows works fine.

Any suggestions regarding what I'm doing wrong are greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

pat
