You need two servers:
1) The Cygwin X11 server.
Install this via Cygwin's setup program.
Run by typing "startx" into a Cygwin bash prompt.
When the X server starts up there should be three xterms in it. Use one of those for the next step.
2) The Nano-X server
From inside a Cygwin xterm, change to the Microwindows bin directory and run "./nano-X".
Then start your Nano-X applications from a different xterm.
Note that this will be slow, since you have three graphics systems: Win32, X11, and Nano-X. But it is a useful test and development platform.
