From /usr/include/freetype2/freetype/fterrors.h:
# FT_ERRORDEF_( Cannot_Open_Resource, 0x01, \
# "cannot open resource" )
So it can't open the font file. Does it exist & do you have read access?

Don't use freetype2_createfont directly - it's an internal
function. Use the Nano-X API function GrCreateFont().
If you're still having problems, please tell us what versions of
Microwindows and FT2 you're using. (Microwindows 0.90 or CVS?
Have you read the comment at the top of font_freetype2.c about
tested FT2 versions?)
Kind regards,
Jon Foster
