This is a makefile bug.  Your problem is that it's
creating a cross-compiled version of bin/convbmp, but that should
be compiled standard x86.  You must ensure that the HOSTCC=,
not CC= is used when compiling bin/convbmp.  This is likely
fixed in the CVS version.  Check with VERBOSE=Y.
