Hi,

Thanks for the help, I have the following enviroment
variables in my telnet:
PWD=/home/root
REMOTEHOST=192.168.0.14
HOSTNAME=192.168.0.10
USER=root
MACHTYPE=i586-pc-linux-gnu
MAIL=/var/mail/root
DISPLAY=vm-knoppix:0.0
LOGNAME=root
SHLVL=1
SHELL=/bin/bash
HOSTTYPE=i586
OSTYPE=linux-gnu
TERM=rxvt
HOME=/home/root
PATH=/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin:/sbin:/usr/sbin
_=/bin/env

and these on my boards login:
PWD=/home/alleyn/alleyn
HOSTNAME=192.168.0.10
MACHTYPE=i586-pc-linux-gnu
MAIL=/var/mail/root
OLDPWD=/home/alleyn
LOGNAME=root
SHLVL=1
SHELL=/bin/bash
HOSTTYPE=i586
OSTYPE=linux-gnu
HOME=/home/root
TERM=linux
PATH=/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin:/sbin:/usr/sbin
_=/bin/env

I am still struggling to sort this out. I have tried
modifying the telnets to exactly those of the linux
virtual terminal. I still get the same error. Is there
a way to specify the frame buffer as the display?
