Hmm.. So no mouse actions work with any FLTK app.

Do mouse actions work with other non-FLTK apps, like
bin/mdemo or chess.sh?

Perhaps the ts isn't calibrated?  nano-X uses the same system
for mouse events, NXLIB does translate them into Xlib
format, however.
