I presume you're running on framebuffer. When Microwindows
is compiled to use framebuffer, it queries the framebuffer (implemented
in the kernel) by using an ioctl call, which returns the size of the
framebuffer. Then Microwindows builds the data structure for the
root window. Basically, Microwindows doesn't impose a framebuffer
size, but rather uses that returned by the ioctl call.
