io.h is needed for the VGA hardware access
by direct port io - you possibly dont need the VGA module.
this is included by default for pc based targets
but i think its rarley used even there.
your platform might not have a VGA,
nor does your cpu have some port io commandset.
at least the absence of io.h indicates that.

Betreff: [nanogui] Cannot Cross Compile
I'm trying to port nano-x to embedded linux on an Etrax processor, so far
without much luck. I've managed to compile natively on Debian. I edited
Arch.rules and put the prefix for the Etrax cris-gcc compiler. When I try
to compile, I get an error:
asm/io.h: No such file or directory
I've found two io.h files, one associated with the cross compiler, and the
other associated with the source for the embedded Linux. I assume that the
code should point to one of these? Am I on the right track?
Dan
