Actually, thats not quite accurate - the /dev/fb/X file was due to devfs, which
has been removed from the "modern" 2.6 kernel (and there was much rejoicing).

At this point, we should be back to using /dev/fbX (at least on udev based
systems), so I think that this matter is closed.  For those poor souls still
dealing with devfs, the change is a simple one.
