There is no "best" platform and your report
does not give me enough hints to even indicate
that the problem is in the platform, so there
is not really an indication that the platform
needs replacement (which is time consuming
and might not cure the problem or introduce
a bunch of other problems you cant handle).
But you should tune your configuration file
to the level of what headers and libs your
platform has installed or add whats missing.
Lots of problems in building are just simple
and only contribute to the lack of knowledge
that a beginner usually has. Quite normal.
As you did not tell at all where you were failing,
there is nothing much more to reply for me now.
Improve your query and then the other side
can improve the reply.

Hi,
I was wondering what is the best distribution for compilation of
microwindows.
So far I have tried Debian 3.1r0a, but I could not get the compilation
completed because of numerous library problems (either missing or improperly
installed).
If you could give me a hint of best Linux development platform for
microwindows that would be great.
Also, is there any newbie FAQ / Introduction to microwindows installation /
configuration / compilation. I am sure that something like this would help
me a lot.
