What is RTEMS? Is that this military operating system with its dead links in

It is used by the military ( Army ). I do not know about dead links. :-).

The dead links are probably to the "original" site with the 3.x version.
They where somewhere in the .mil domain.
Now it it taken over by OAR http://www.oarcorp.com/
or one could turn of his brain and try http://www.rtems.com/ :-)
its a small realtime OS, RealTime Executive for Military Systems or
the more PC form RealTime Executive for Multiprocessor Systems :-)
