using Nano-X with framebuffer.

I managed to get framebuffers working on my machine and rebuilt microwin to drive them. I could happily run the microwin demos (mine, etc),but couldn't find a way to fire up Nano-X on a virtual terminal and then run a separate app (such as nclock) on that Nano-X display. I may be being really dumb, any suggestions? Simon Wood

At the moment, either: bin/nano-X; sleep 1; bin/nclock or ./npanel.sh and use the menu You also may be able to start programs from nterm. Starting something from a seperate VT and switching back doesn't work well because the automatic repaint on VT switch seems to be broken. Soon, you'll be able to start programs from the root window menu of the window manager I've written. --------------- Linux- the choice of a GNU generation. -------------- : Alex Holden (M1CJD)- Caver, Programmer, Land Rover nut, Radio Ham : -------------------- http://www.linuxhacker.org/ --------------------

Becase "separate app" is client-server mode, nano-X server and app communicate via unix domain socket. -----Original Message----- From: Simon Wood ####@####.#### Sent: Monday, June 12, 2000 5:47 PM To: ####@####.#### Subject: using Nano-X with framebuffer. The VT switch for Nano-X works fine for me. Which demo are you running? If you're running the terminal emulator, it's broken because it doesn't handle expose events and doesn't keep track of it's screen contents; only it's background is erased...
