Small screens ?

Do you intend to allow your PDA Environment to work for such smaller devices ? This configuration would not only consist of setting the actual screen size, but also the kind of interaction might strongly differ. For this kind of screen we might imagine the window manager to display every application window fullscreen without decoration, and to forbid any window overlapping - except for modal dialog windows. Thank you, Daniel Lucas-Hirtz. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Jason and Greg wrote the thing in such a way that it is easy to make the program 100% configurable for many different looks and feels. I think that we have already gotten it running on 5 very different devices thus far, so thats pretty good. Easily : Do you intend to allow your PDA Environment to work for such smaller : devices ? : This configuration would not only consist of setting the actual screen : size, but also the kind of interaction might strongly differ. For this : kind of screen we might imagine the window manager to : display every application window fullscreen without decoration, and to : forbid any window : overlapping - except for modal dialog windows. This is exactly the method Century Software uses for the PDA/Webpad operating environment. The Nano-X program sets various style bits at window creation time. If the bits are anything other than GR_WM_PROPS_APPWINDOW, then that style is displayed. Otherwise, the window manager sets a style depending on the size of the screen: for PDAs, the app is run full-screen, no border. For WebPADs, the app is run as an overlapping window. This is the cool part about window managers: you can make them do whatever you want with the application window size, placement and decorations.
