Thats why I would recommend biting the : bullet and doing it ourselves. There is no pthreads dependency. As I mentioned, the version I just checked into CVS uses pthread_mutex_lock and pthread_mutex_unlock, which are in glibc. Also, src/include/lock.h defines three macros which can be used to implement locks any way desired - just redefine the macros.
