Subject:
Announce: SDL 1.2.4/SMPEG 0.4.4 support for nano-X
From: "Greg Haerr" ####@####.#### Date: 25 Aug 2002 04:46:42 -0000 Message-Id: <067101c24bf1$176cc100$3aba46a6@xmission.com> I've created a patch allowing the latest version of SDL and SMPEG to be used with Microwindows, taking advantage of direct client-side framenbuffer access and multi-threaded applications, such as the SMPEG digital video viewer. The patch to SDL v1.2.4 is available at: ftp://microwindows.org/pub/microwindows/sdl-1.2.4-nanox-0.9.patch This version has been tested with the latest SMPEG 0.4.4. I've added multi-threading support for all the Nano-X Gr*() functions, turned on with a config option THREADSAFE=Y. These modifications, along with many others, are in the Microwindows 0.89pre9 CVS tree. I've tested the critical section locking using my dual-processor machine, and everything seems to be working fine. A new file, src/include/lock.h, has been created allowing macros to be defined to initialize, lock, and unlock a mutex for any operating system. The current implementation uses pthreads on Linux. Have fun! Regards, Greg | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
