Subject:
[PATCH GCC4] nanox (config.x11 without MWIN) doesn't compile with gcc4
From: alain volmat ####@####.#### Date: 29 Apr 2005 07:32:13 +0100 Message-Id: <20050429063144.52429.qmail@web41726.mail.yahoo.com> Hi all, I just tried to compile Nano-X against gcc4 (gcc4 (GCC) 4.0.0 20050406 (Red Hat 4.0.0-0.41.fc3)) available in FC3. It fails to compile due to a very small problem in the nanowm code. Compiling demos/nanowm/wlist.c ... /home/alain/work/microwin/snaps/050426/microwin/src/demos/nanowm/wlist.c:16: error: static declaration of ‘windows’ follows non-static declaration /home/alain/work/microwin/snaps/050426/microwin/src/demos/nanowm/nanowm.h:173: error: previous declaration of ‘windows’ was here In fact the fix is very simple ... just remove the extern declaration of windows from nanowm.h since it is just not necessary at all. Well, even if this fix is really simple, I attach the patch to this email. This is probably only the first patch of a little GCC4 patch series since MWIN also fails to compile and there are so many warnings generated. The most common one is "pointer targets in assignment differ in signedness". Alain __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
