Microwindows is configured for framebuffer by using one of the Configs/config.fb* configurations. There's no "installation" required, it will then use the framebuffer for its display. Of course, X11 can't be running. As far as getting Linux kernel framebuffer up and running, that's a complicated subject covered by other websites.
