Hi All,

Another way to get larger built-in fonts is to create a larger font by
definition. I wanted to play with this by using the convfnt32.exe utility.
I just checked-out the convfnt32.exe from CVS but it doesn't run on my
Windows XP computer. It aborts with a message "This program cannot be run in
DOS mode".

Does somebody has a clue what happens here?

Regards,
Petro

A better way is to find an existing .bdf or .pcf font that meets
your needs. If the font is .ttf, then there are other conversion
utilities to create a .bdf or .pcf from it.

Yes - that binary is very old, and was created using the
console rather than graphical application linker switch. That means
XP runs the DOS application compatibility emulator to try to
run the application. You're better off to recompile the .exe
if you really want to use it. I wrote it as a quick hack before
we had other conversion utilities like convbdf which are
now included.

Regards,

Greg

I got it working on my laptop that runs Windows2000. There it works, very
fine.
I am now able to create any font i like, although i am strugling with
height/width ratio.

I want to use the built-in raster-type fonts because it is very fast. Using
a TTF slows down the system very....very.. ...much :-(

Thx,
Petro
