nanogui: Thread: Speeding up image drawing

Hello everybody,

I am investigating how to speed up image drawing in Nano-X.
It seems like the best thing to do is drawing into an off-screen buffer 
and then drawing the buffer on the screen.

-Can anyone give me advice on how to do this?
