If compiled with optimization, the would define a macro called gettext which has the same name as the Article method gettext. This error is fixed in the cvs version of glibc. For details see: http://sources.redhat.com/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/libc/intl/libintl.h?cvsroot=glibc http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=252753 NewsCache 1.2 will name the method GetText to prevent compiling errors. I think the CVS version of glibc would take some time to reach the various distributions.
