Yep, look at the plustek.conf file, there's the option lampOffOnEnd,
this should be set to 1 and the light should go off then.
It also went off upon starting the backend...

No problem, go ahead, but I expect some problems with that. If you can tell
me in some simple words how to make a RPM for the parallelport driver,
or if you even have an environment for that, I can provide RPMs for various
kernels under SuSE...
