Hi, all.
I noted the problem with the 2200c having lines in the scans, and I've been
fiddling with mine with some success.
Attached to this email is a copy of my plustek.conf file.
First, go into /usr/local/etc/sane.d, locate your plustek.conf file and put it
somewhere SAFE (like /home or /root).
Then, take the email attachment and put it in /usr/local/etc/sane.d and start
up xsane.
In 42bit color mode, set the following variables:
Gamma: 2.2
Brightness: 19
Contrast: 8
Here are the modifications I have made to my plustek.conf file.
Increasing the posShading to 40 eliminates lines and faded spots, but causes
color "latticing" in laser documents.
Increasing the gain values to 5 helps remove extreme white spots, while
increasing all the gamma values to 5 removes dark areas.
lamp warmup is disabled, but this doesn't seem to affect the quality of the
scans.
If this file doesn't work for you, have a play with ONLY the settings I have
just mentioned.
If all fails, replace it with your old file.
