Many thanks for your help and patience.
I have tried to update to 45.1 but I must confess I am not sure whether I did
right.
This is what I did:
a) cd /usr/local/sane-backends-1.0.9/
b) tar -zxvf /home/packages/plustek-sane-0.45-1.tar.gz
c) cd backend/plustek_driver
d) make
e) make install
f) cd /usr/local/sane-backends-1.0.9/
g) make
h) make install
Is that all? Does it make any sense?
Then I tried the command export SANE_DEBUG_PLUSTEK=12; scanimage -L
and it worked!
I guess I did right if it is working. xsane works great now.
