Try /dev/usbscanner0 or change the config file!!!
In the plustek.conf you refer to
device /dev/usbscanner

but you only have
/dev/usb/scanner0
or
/dev/usbscanner0

you should use the devicename, that sane-find-scanner returns!!!!
That's all...

One hint, use at least plustek-sane-0.45-3 instead of the test4
