As Thorsten does not answer, I'll try...

the problem seems to be, that under certain conditions, the motor consumes
too much current and thus the fuse gets blown. As Epson knows this,
they had the posibility to fix that in their driver, but we had to figure out
the correct settings by testing and in the fist approach we failed :-(

This behaviour has been fixed in later backend versions...
