Hi,

My 9636T Optic Pro scanner worked fine with Mandrake 8.2.
Then I upgraded to Mandrake 9.0 (2.4.19-16 kernel).
Unfortunetly ,my scanner is no longer recognised.
I successfully reinstalled the pt_drv.o module, but it does not work ...
Could you help me ?

Thank you very much

Jacques Montier

Hi Jacques,

in general it's hard to say what's going wrong here without further
informations...
Well if the driver gets loaded (see the procfs: cat /proc/pt_drv)
and scanimage -L says no devices, then either
/drv/pt_drv is not accessible --> change the access rights
or
sane.d/dll.conf does not contain plustek as backend (happend
to another Mandrake user)
or
plustek.conf is not correctly
or
the SANE version does not lie the pt_drv version

Hope ths helps a little bit. If not, I need debug messages from
the backend:
export SANE_DEBUG_DLL=255
export SANE_DEBUG_PLUSTEK=12
scanimage -L

Hi,

the logs, that you've sent me show that the Pluste kbackend
is not enabled in the sane configuration. So please go and
find the file dll.conf. IT is located in /etc/sane.d or /usr/local/etc/sane.d
There enable the backend by removing the # in the line or by
adding the line
plustek
to the file. This should fix your problem...

Gerhard
