Hello,

I'm considering buying a scanner for my Linux machine. I saw that your driver
supports the HP 2200c, which i'm considering to buy (is it a good idea?).

However, my reseller does not name the product "HP 2200c" but "HP ScanJet
2200c (C8507A)". That C8507A is worrying me.. Is it the same lm983x-based
scanner than the one your driver supports?

see the HP web page:
http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/en/en-ww/product/1,15179,64195,28415,28416,28418,5.html

thank you for any information,

emmanuel

Yes, C8507A is HP's internal part number for it. 2200C is the marketing
label, and will not necessarily be the same in all markets. It is the
right scanner.

Hi there,

my HP2200c is named C8500A, so where is the difference?
Maybe some kind of contry code? But I also think that
the 2200c has always an LM9832 inside...

Mine came with instructions in English, French, Spanish and Portugese,
and a UK-type power supply plug. The CD has barcode C8507-15402, and is
marked ENG/FRA/ITA/GER/SPA/POR/RUS/KOR/DUT/SCH/TCH, but that doesn't
cover all the European languages. Perhaps the difference is in the
language of the instructions?
