I will try your changes asap

Thanks Gerhard for always providing quick support. ;-)

I wouldn't have liked to put my old parallel plustek scanner in bend.

Someone says that on linux, a scanner can be shared on a network but I
don't know if he talked about X-forwarding or something else.

Does Someone understand what he meant ?

nanouck@gohan:~ $ sane-config --libs
-lsane -lusb -lnsl -lm -ljpeg -lgphoto2 -lgphoto2_port -lm -ldl

I think cvs instructions are the following:
cvs ####@####.#### login
cvs -z3 ####@####.#### co
sane-backends

but alioth seems to be down.

Does the latest snapshot contain your changes ?
7c7f0863d1c6bbb4a78ea51d6b3b5690 sane-backends-2005-11-17.tar.gz

The Changelog file does not contain informations about your changes.

I may try Friday evening.

well, checkout for the libieee1284 - it's needed, maybe your installation only lacks
of the headerfiles (typically package libieee1284-devel).

No, checkout info about saned - you'll be able to setup a box, running
saned to allow access a scanner via network.

Might wanna checkout this one:
http://penguin-breeder.org/sane/saned/
