Well, -ltiff means that the compiler should look for a file called
libtiff.so (or libtiff.a). It's usually found in one of /usr/lib,
/usr/local/lib, or sometimes /usr/X11R6/lib. Try looking for a debian
package called libtiff, and install it with dpkg.
