Actually, I don't think SuSE is to blame - I think this is generally applicable
to
more recent versions of the kernel, I'm running 2.3.99-pre3 and it had the same
problem.
Renaming the variable sure solved it though.
I can report that the scanner works perfectly on my setup - a job well done!
Now does anyone fancy chopping this up and building a SANE backend?
